I had my heart set on getting an air fryer, but my first try with a different brand was a total letdown. It was pricey, flimsy, and a nightmare to clean! Then my old microwave kicked the bucket, and I saw this Panasonic with an air fryer built right in. Score! It meant I could ditch the old microwave and that bulky air fryer taking up space on my counter.
Let me tell you, this Panasonic is a dream come true! It looks fantastic – sleek and stylish, and not too big for my kitchen. I bought it mainly for the air fryer, but guess what? I’m totally obsessed with the automatic reheat function. No more playing guessing games with the timer, my food comes out perfectly heated every time!
I’ve been testing out all the features using recipes from the Drop App (super handy, by the way!). So far, I’ve microwaved udon noodles in minutes, air-fried teriyaki salmon and broccoli (a little lopsided, but hey!), and even baked potatoes using the Combo 2 setting – they tasted just like oven-baked! And the best part? The microwave barely needed any cleaning after all that cooking! No more scrubbing like I had to do with my old air fryer.
I even tackled a plant-based lasagna recipe (with real ground beef for me, I can’t do fake meat). It used a combo of microwave, convection bake, and even the air fryer. It would have been perfect if I hadn’t messed up the cheese timing, but besides that, it was delicious. I even air-fried some chicken tenders and brussel sprouts – yum!
Overall, I’m super impressed with this Panasonic. It looks great next to my other stainless steel appliances and is pretty easy to use. A couple of minor things though: the fan runs for a bit after cooking, which can be noisy, and like all stainless steel, it shows fingerprints easily. The air fryer basket is big and holds a lot, but cleaning it can be a bit of a chore. Also, the air fryer doesn’t let you control the temperature, so I had to experiment a bit with timing for non-recipe items. But those are small things.
This Panasonic is a winner in my book! It would be perfect for a college student living in a dorm or anyone who wants a versatile kitchen appliance that saves space. I highly recommend it! Read more…
