My in-wall microwave decided to call it quits, leaving me without a microwave for two whole weeks. Since a major repair wasn’t in the cards at that moment, I went on the hunt for a replacement. My search led me to the Commercial Chef 0.6 cubic foot microwave. It ticked all the boxes: it was compact enough to fit comfortably on my countertop, seemed well-made, and offered the functionality I needed at a reasonable price. Plus, there was a bit of a coincidence involved in my choice. I had recently rented a cottage on vacation, and guess what they had in the kitchen? Yep, the same Commercial Chef microwave! That little experience sealed the deal for me.
This microwave is a great little workhorse. It has 6 power levels, which provide enough variety for my typical reheating and light cooking needs. Admittedly, it took a little trial and error to get the hang of the timing. The dial only goes up to 30 minutes, so I had to adjust my approach a bit. However, by experimenting with the different power settings, I’ve been able to perfectly heat up everything I’ve thrown in there so far.
